Brazil has around 125 million people with malnutrition problems, that is, at least 15% of our population is hungry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <strong>United Nations (UN)<\/strong>, world hunger underwent a dramatic worsening in 2020, a moment related to the consequences of COVID-19. although the <strong>impact of the pandemic<\/strong> has not yet been fully mapped, the report <em>\u201cThe State of Food and Nutrition Insecurity in the World (SOFI)\u201d<\/em> estimates that about a tenth of the global population \u2013 up to <strong>811 million people<\/strong> \u2013 was undernourished in 2021. The numbers suggest it will take a major effort for the world to honor its pledge to <strong>end hunger by 2030<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This report, together with other data, warns us that the food security of millions of people \u2013 including that of children \u2013 is at stake, at a critical juncture, threatening their lives.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, hunger generates other hungers: hunger for dignity, belonging and justice.
