Last weekend, 50 homeless people participated in a spirituality and appreciation of life meeting, promoted by Casa Restaura-me, a social service space of the Alliance of Mercy, in Espírito Santo do Pinhal, in the interior of São Paulo. The initiative provided moments of coexistence, support and opportunities to reflect on new paths in life.
During the three days of activities, participants experienced lectures, group dynamics, artistic activities and discussion groups. The event also offered moments of listening, sharing stories and emotional support services, as well as special meals, including a festive dinner on Saturday and a barbecue lunch on Sunday, marking the end of the event.
At the end of the meeting, 15 participants were sent to partner shelters, where they will be able to continue the process of social reintegration and rebuilding their life projects. In the coming days, other participants will also be sent to shelters and screening centers, expanding the scope of the action.
According to the Casa Restaura-me team, the goal of the event is to offer these people the opportunity to start over with dignity, through a safe, welcoming and structured environment. The work was supported by volunteers, partners and collaborators who helped to make the activities possible and guarantee the event's infrastructure.
