On December 5, 2024, Vila Cuore, an educational and humanized space of the Alliance of Mercy, in a successful partnership with the Bia Rabinovich Institute, held the graduation ceremony of Basic Course in Gastronomic Techniques. With 30 students divided between morning and afternoon classes, the three-month course trained adults to enter the job market or start a business in the gastronomy sector, offering practical techniques and valuing the dignity and potential of each participant.

O Chef Mauricio, one of the chefs responsible for the course, spoke about the importance of the project: “here we are not just cooking, we are healing scars”. Many students came to the course facing personal and emotional challenges, but left with new skills that can transform their lives.

During classes, students learned everything from baking techniques to professional cuts, preparing them to work in commercial kitchens or start their own businesses.

Rose, one of the graduates, expressed her gratitude upon completing the course. “I only knew how to cook at home, but here I learned incredible techniques, like making bread. My heart is full of gratitude for this opportunity.”.

Father Evandro Torlai, president of the Alliance of Mercy, who presented the diplomas to the graduates, also spoke about this moment of celebration. “It was a wonderful morning. People from the surrounding communities of Botuquara, Parque de Taipas and Jardim Rincão took a course in haute cuisine. And look what a wonderful thing… someone who was here said: 'I'm going to help you get into the job market!'. Praise God! Thank you to those who believe, help and pray for this project. Thank you!” spoke with gratitude at the end of the ceremony.

A successful partnership

We want to thank the Bia Rabinovich Institute for this successful partnership that made possible not only the course, but a new stage in the lives of these 30 students who were awakened to a new profession and, consequently, to a new step in their stories.
