Last Tuesday, the 8th, Terraço Itália, in the capital of São Paulo, was the stage for a very special event: a charity dinner organized by Ana Lucia and Sérgio Comolatti, through the Comolatti Institute.
The goal was to raise funds to support the work of the Alliance of Mercy, which works with those most in need, bringing hope and transformation through its various social projects. The event, which brought together 120 guests, was marked by an atmosphere of true fraternity and joy, filled with friends and generous supporters.
Father Evandro Torlai, president of the Alliance, highlighted the welcoming and fraternal atmosphere that took over the evening. In his words, “The atmosphere of family and joy was contagious, with dear and generous friends who are always ready to help the Alliance”. The night was a true celebration of friendship and solidarity, showing the strength of a community united by the mission of serving those most in need.
Transformation Testimonies
During dinner, Father Evandro presented a moving video of the Alliance of Mercy, produced by the benefactor and friend of the Work, José Edgar, in his production company. The video showed the fruits of the Association's work and highlighted stories of transformation, such as that of Renan Gameiro, a young man who was welcomed at Casa Naim, one of the Alliance's projects. Renan, who came from an extremely vulnerable situation, found at Casa Naim the support he needed to rebuild his life and today he is a karate champion, sponsored by the Comolatti Institute and other dedicated volunteers.
Another powerful testimony was that of Edgar himself, who also had his life transformed. A successful businessman, Edgar shared his journey, showing how the Alliance of Mercy reaches people from all walks of life, whether it be a young person at risk like Renan, or a businessman experiencing moments of great inner suffering. This “bridge of mercy”, as described, unites people from very different backgrounds, but equally touched by this mission.
In addition to the moving testimonies, the evening was marked by a special fundraising campaign for the Alliance of Mercy. The success of the campaign was impressive, with a significant amount being raised to continue the work of fully restoring dignity to so many people we meet. The generosity of those present reinforces everyone’s commitment to supporting the Alliance’s mission.
