During the month of May, the Family Social Assistance and Basic Social Protection Service at Home (SASF) Centro Maria Paola, of the Alliance of Mercy, promoted and participated in activities aimed at valuing childhood and raising awareness about the protection of children and adolescents.
In celebration of the Municipal Play Day, SASF was present at a special program at Pinheirinho D'Água Park. Families supported by the service and community residents participated in a day of games, meetings and exchange of experiences. The initiative sought to value the act of playing as a tool for family development and coexistence.
Also in May, SASF participated in the III Orange May Seminar, at CEU Taipas, and performed the play “Don’t touch me, you idiot!”, inspired by the book of the same name, at the Padre Pio and Vila Cuore Children and Adolescent Centers (CCAs). The action was part of the May 18 campaign, which marks the fight against the abuse and sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.
The play addressed, in an accessible way, topics such as respect for the body, the right to protection and the importance of reporting. The objective was to promote reflection and strengthen awareness among children, adolescents and educators about this sensitive and necessary topic.
SASF also celebrated the Pedagogue's Day with its team, recognizing the importance of pedagogical work in monitoring families, especially in home visits and in supporting the child development of children aged 0 to 3 years.
Operating for 10 years in the Jaraguá neighborhood, in the northern part of São Paulo, SASF Centro Maria Paola is part of the social actions of Aliança de Misericórdia and its mission is to strengthen the protective role of families through home visits, socio-educational workshops, actions with the elderly and people with disabilities, and monitoring carried out by a multidisciplinary team made up of social workers, psychologists and pedagogues.
