In the heart of São Paulo's historic center, a building with over a century of history is preparing for a new chapter. The Casarão da Rua do Carmo, which will house the institutional headquarters of the Aliança de Misericórdia, is part of a conservation and restoration project that seeks to preserve its architectural features and enhance its historical and cultural importance.

Made possible through Law for the Promotion of Culture, with the support of the Ministry of Culture (MinC), The initiative includes the services of Brazil Restoration, an architecture firm specializing in the preservation of historical heritage. The project includes actions aimed at conserving the facades, roof, and exterior areas of the property.

Among the results of this stage is the creation of a interactive 3D virtual tour, Developed as a counterpart to the project, this exhibit allows the public to explore the mansion, learn about its architectural features, and discover more about the building's history.

A historical landmark in the center of São Paulo.

Located in one of the oldest areas of São Paulo, the mansion preserves in its architecture marks of the transformations experienced by the city. The region, formerly known as Rua da Boa Morte (Good Death Street), has a history linked to... Church of Our Lady of Good Death, one of the oldest in downtown São Paulo.

The project foresees the conservation of approximately 1,066 m² of facades and 578 m² of roof, in addition to the restoration of the external areas. The interventions aim to preserve the architectural identity of the building and contribute to the continuity of its history as the institutional headquarters of the Alliance of Mercy.

The diagnostic phase of the mansion has already been completed. This work allowed us to assess the condition of the property and provide a basis for planning the conservation and restoration actions foreseen for the next phase.

Explore the mansion on a 3D virtual tour.

As one of the results of this stage of the project and as a cultural contribution of the initiative, Brasil Restauro developed an interactive three-dimensional model of the Casarão da Rua do Carmo, available on the Sketchfab platform.

The experience brings together 20 interactive points with information about architectural elements, construction details, and events related to the building's history. Visitors can rotate the model 360 degrees, observe different angles of the building, and explore features that help to understand the richness of this historical heritage.

The virtual tour expands access possibilities to the mansion and brings the public closer to its history, allowing them to discover its beauty, unique features, and architectural curiosities even from a distance.
