Allea Olive Oil: Fruits of Hope and Transformation at the Shelter Home

At the Sacred Heart of Jesus Shelter, every detail of daily life carries a profound meaning. More than just a place of refuge, this is a place where lives are rebuilt with dignity, work, and faith. A concrete example of this transformation is the recent harvest of olives grown in the shelter's olive grove—an important milestone that unites care, sustainability, and hope.

A harvest that reveals perseverance.

Located in Barbacena, the Casa de Acolhida (Shelter Home) carried out its third olive harvest this year. Although previous years had already yielded fruit, this time the production reached a significant volume, the result of continuous and dedicated work.

More than a ton of olives were harvested, with an estimated average yield of approximately 100 liters of olive oil. This progress is not only agricultural—it is also human. Each stage of cultivation was carried out with dedication by the residents of the home, who find in this work an opportunity for learning, responsibility, and a fresh start.

Allea Olive Oil: quality born from mission.

From this harvest comes Allea olive oil, a product that carries with it much more than just quality. It represents the commitment of the Shelter Home to sustainable and educational initiatives that promote autonomy and dignity.

The cultivation of olive trees and the production of olive oil are part of an educational and therapeutic process. By caring for the land, those being helped also care for themselves, rediscovering their value and rebuilding their history with hope.

This initiative is deeply aligned with the charism of the Alliance of Mercy, which seeks to promote life in all its dimensions, especially among the most vulnerable.

Sustainability, training and new opportunities

The olive grove project goes beyond agricultural production. It is an instrument of social transformation, offering:

  • Practical and professional training
  • Skills and discipline development
  • Encouraging responsibility and teamwork.
  • Income generation and sustainability for the mission.

As the Word of God teaches us: “"Those who sow generously will also reap generously."” (2 Cor 9:6). This harvest is the fruit of seeds planted with love, perseverance, and faith.
