On Friday the 13th, children and teenagers from Mill Slum, in downtown São Paulo, had a special reason to celebrate: the inauguration and blessing of the new court of Saint Dominic Savio Oratory. The event was marked by Thanksgiving Mass, celebrated by Father Evandro Torlai, president of the Alliance of Mercy.
The Oratory, which serves children and teenagers after school, brought together families and employees to give thanks for the year of activities. During the celebration, the children presented a moving play about the birth of Jesus, highlighting the true and most important reason for the Christmas festivities.
After the Mass, the new space was blessed, an achievement made possible thanks to the partnership with Juliana Carvalho (Fator 5) and a group of generous friends, to whom we express our deep gratitude.
O Saint Dominic Savio Oratory, in Favela do Moinho, is a project of Covenant of Mercy which offers educational support, human and spiritual development to children and adolescents in vulnerable situations. During after-school hours, they receive extra tutoring, quality food, sports and cultural activities, as well as psychological and social support.
This work is more than just daily support: it is an opportunity to transform lives, helping young people dream of a better future.
Our gratitude goes out to everyone who has already collaborated with the social projects of the Alliance of Mercy. And you can also be part of this transformation!
